【Tokyo Midtown Store Gallery】51st Exhibit: Let’s Go to the Dagashi Store!

From 28 February until 25 June,2025, Toraya will hold an exhibition on Dagashi store at the Tokyo Midtown Store Gallery.

When you think of Dagashi(inexpensive and nostalgic Japanese sweets), what kind of confections come to mind? Whether it’s simple-tasting confections made with unrefined brown sugar or soybean flour, or those that you win through a lucky draw or that come with a free toy, the confections that you think of vary from person to person, and the image of the vendor may also differ. However, what everyone shares when they hear the words “Dagashi” or “Dagashi store” is an unexpected sense of excitement and exhilaration.

This exhibition will explore the secrets behind why Dagashi stores captivate our hearts, from answering questions such as “What exactly are Dagashi?” and “What kinds of Dagashi are there?” to introducing nostalgic confections and toys.
