【Tokyo Midtown Store Gallery】53rd Exhibit: Encountering Paper

Paper is an indispensable part of our daily lives.
When something is so familiar, we sometimes don’t give it any thought. Hearing the word “paper,” the first things that come to mind are probably books, notebooks and photocopying paper.

Although paper was originally used to record and convey information, it has long been used for far more than writing. Its outstanding properties mean that it is utilized in countless aspects of daily life, from food and our living environment to gift giving.

Beyond its role as a practical material, paper has also been used in arts and crafts, providing us with visual pleasure. It is true to say that the use of paper has made our daily lives more convenient and enriching.

We hope this exhibition provides an opportunity to enjoy new encounters with paper.
